• Welcome to the Site- The Solo Librarian

The Solo Librarian offers short courses to learners developing skills to critically access, retrieve Information, then analytically and ethically analyse retrieved Information.

These skills are equivalent to the study skills sessions delivered to new learners during Library inductions within secondary schools that usually occurs at the beginning of each new academic school year.

The skills gained will be helpful, not only for each learner's current study and future endeavours in employment, research, dialogue, and critical thinking.

In 2020, the importance of Digital Literacy for learners became blatantly crucial during the global pandemic. The SoloLibrarian hopes in its way to help in bridging that digital gap.

Introducing learners to the background history of HOW  & WHY for library skills became important in the learning academia.

In today's world, information reigns supreme, surpassing material wealth in significance. It serves as the cornerstone of progress and development, empowering individuals and societies alike. Access to information facilitates informed decision-making, fosters innovation, and drives socioeconomic growth. Unlike material possessions, which can be lost or depleted, knowledge is a perpetual asset that enriches lives across generations.

In the digital age, the democratization of information empowers individuals from all walks of life to educate themselves and contribute to society's advancement. By prioritizing the dissemination and acquisition of knowledge, we pave the way for a more enlightened and equitable future. In essence, the true wealth of nations lies not in their riches, but in the abundance of accessible and valuable information.
